Class 2
Year 2 is taught by the Key stage 1 manager Mrs Siegne, and the Teaching Assistant is Mrs Kennedy.
In Year 2 the children complete key stage 1 and get ready for transition to
Key Stage 2, they also complete their Key Stage 1 SATs teacher assessments.
School uniform remains a red sweat shirt, white T. shirt, and black or grey trousers or skirt.
The children continue to learn within an enriched curriculum. The learning environment in Year 2 is outstanding, and the children take part in many creative activities to support their learning.
This Year group also benefits from an Interactive Whiteboard, and this is well utilised in lessons, and the pace of learning is fast.
Lessons are differentiated (adapted) to meet the needs of children of all abilities. The children from Year 1 and 2, are along with all pupils tracked in their learning progress. Great emphasis is placed upon reading, writing and calculations. As needs are identified, interventions are put in place to support the children. This year identified children are also benefiting from the Reading Recovery programme. |
