Class 5
Year 5 are taught by Miss Pickup and the Teaching Assistant is Mrs Instone.
In Year 5 the children enter St Wilfrid’s Upper School
When the children enter Year 5, their school uniform changes to a black sweat shirt, white T. shirt, and black or grey trousers or skirt.
The uniform includes a sleeveless jacket in black that the children can wear over, or instead of, their black sweat shirt.
This uniform is available through school with the red school logo, but plain black sweat shirts can be purchased from other stores such as ASDA.
Year 5 and 6 work together on planned schemes of work, to accelerate learning in Year 5. This differentiation over two year groups also allows the teachers to revise any Year 5 concepts with Year 6 if they have gaps within their learning, or just require a concept to be explained again.
It also allows us to develop a more caring upper school as the children can support each other and develop their peer mentoring skills. In ICT, the children extend their knowledge through creating power point presentations, animations, film making and their latest project is radio broadcasting. |
