We have recently set up a Friends of St Wilfrids Committee, made up of a number of parents and carers. We would like our parents to be as involved as possible throughout the school. The committee is led by one of our parents, Claire Taylor.

The Friends of St Wilfrid’s recently held a number of fundraising events including a school disco, a non-uniform day, and a World Cup Themed Day. We have raised over £300 from these events, and the School Council alongwith the Friends of St Wilfrid’s will decide what the money is to be spent on.

The Committee also recently met with local councillor, Damien O’Connor, representatives from the Police, and the School Council to improve security around the school. Following this we have done leaflet drops around the local area asking local residents to ring and report any trespassers on the school grounds. We have recently been granted planning permission to replace fencing around the Foundation Stage area with new, higher, anti-climb fencing. The work will start to take place as soon as possible.  We will keep you posted on any developments.
