During the lunch hour we have a number of clubs and activities the children can get involved in.
Inside school there is a regular choir that takes place weekly. Miss Pickup works with the children learning a range of different types of songs. The children get to vote and make suggestions as to what music they would like to learn and perform.
The choir has performed during class assemblies, in the community, during special assemblies and hold their own shows like Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.
Also the school library is open every lunch time between 12.30 and 1pm. Librarians are on hand to help children choose books, complete library tasks and use the online library system to scan books in and out on children’s records.
Outside in our playground we have 6 sports coaches, one coach per class to help the children be active and have a fun lunchtime. There are different sports on offer each week including hockey, dodge ball, football, cricket and rounders. There are also organised activities for example hide and seek and tag.
The school’s teaching assistants are on hand throughout the lunch hour to encourage good relationships between children and promote positive social interactions. They are also first aid trained and deal with any incidents that may arise.
